To enjoy a holiday in Italy with sun, sand, sea, and good food in an atmosphere where you feel relaxed, that is what Salvatore and Ellen Avagliano set out to offer in their holiday center. Irrespective of whether you are a wheelchair user or not. In this beautiful region at the foot of "Monte Circeo" (south of Rome) everybody feels at home. While working in German hospital in the 1960's Salvatore Avagliano recognized a problem. It was not possible for wheelchair users to enjoy the same vacations as able bodied persons. Most disabled persons did not know the feeling of lying in the sun on a beach and enjoying a swim in the open sea. So Salvatore started in the 1970's to bring handicapped people to San Felice in a private initiative. Even though the organization and accommodations where much improvised then. It has been a big success. Many of the guest from back then still spend their vacation with us every summer. But the rented apartments did not meet the requirements for wheelchair accessible accommodations. So some friends and wheelchair users to raised the money and helped Salvatore and Ellen Avagliano to find and buy a suitable property. With their financial help of the last twenty-five years the holiday center and it's surroundings where built and created in a way that allows all wheelchair users to get around with out any effort and help. Before every single step was taken wheelchair users were consulted to offer their suggestion of how something could and should be built.

The vacation center has it's own private beach one mile from the center. You can easily reach it on foot. You can also shop in a nearby village, or make use of our free transport service. The shuttle service we provide is fully equipped with proper lifts and ramps to get to the beach and back to the center. With ramps and tile paths on to the beach and the sea, it is very accessible. Showers, changing rooms and toilets are all of course wheelchair accessible on the beach. With a small fee you rent an umbrella or sun bed and the life guards and our staff will help you into the Mediterranean Sea. You don't have to use your own wheelchair because we have our own specialized water proof wheelchairs. Even children can go swimming here without any danger because the sea becomes deeper at a slow pace. Not to mention there is no current or breaking waves. Close to the beach are two lovely bars. The owners are very nice and have become very accustomed to the need of wheelchair users. Here you can have beautiful snacks for lunch or meet over a cappuccino to watch the movement on the street or on the beach. On the video wall in the bar our guest have watched many Soccer games and sport occasions over the years.
The setting sun is the best way to end a enjoyable day with your family over the water.
