After many years of working in Germany, Salvatore enrolled in the university of Bochum to learn the language and study latin languages. In order to pay for this he worked as a Night Assistant in BG- Hospital Duisburg.
For the first time in his llife he found himself confronted with the many problems of a handicapped patient in a wheelchair, some problems seemingly insurmountable. He was working in the paraplegic departement during the 70's, where he was amazed at the lack of facilities available for the disabled to have holidays in hotels or guest houses, and thus a dream was born. Why not a Holiday Village for the disabled?
With financial help from German wheel chair users plus long term loans, Salvatore's dream slowly became a reality.
And now 30 years later that is exactly what you will find when you visit Salvatore's Holiday Village. A dream come true.
There is a magical and homely atmosphere that embraces the young, the old, the handicapped and the non-handicapped who come from all over the world.
A place for everyone to have the holiday of their dreams.
